Cindy Wolfe Boynton

Cindy Wolfe Boynton is an award-winning writer and editor whose background includes more than fifteen years as a regular correspondent for The New York Times and nine years as editor of Better Health magazine. She is also the author of two books published in 2014 by The History Press, "Remarkable Women of Hartford" and "Connecticut's Witch Trials: The First Panic in the New World." Her one-woman plays "Right Time to Say I Love You" and "Dear Prudence" both made their premieres at New York City's United Solo Theatre Festival, with Right Time continuing on for performances that took her to Brighton, England, and one of the largest theater festivals in the world. A Connecticut resident, Cindy is an English and communications instructor at the Yale School of Medicine, Housatonic Community College, Paier School of Art and University of New Haven. She also coordinates the Writing and Oral Tradition Master's Degree Program at The Graduate Institute. In 2014, she served as a fellow at the Wesleyan Writers Conference. A passionate believer in the power of storytelling and its ability to educate, connect and affect change, Cindy is also president of the Connecticut chapter of the National Organization for Women.

When does the course start and finish?
This webinar will air live from 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28. A week after, on March 7, those enrolled will receive an email with a link to a recording of the webinar, which they can view as many times as they desire. This email will also include Write Loudly!’s “Writing & Editing Checklist”; the guide to submitting your work; and, if you enrolled by Feb. 23, directions on how to submit your writing for critique and feedback.
If I can’t attend the webinar live, will I still receive a link for the recorded version?
Yes! On March 7, all those enrolled will receive a link to the webinar recording, as well as all the items listed above.

That means you write something, submit it to us, and we will provide you with a high-level critique of the writing’s structure, voice and content. Draft should be submitted within 60 days of the webinar. I think I’m already an OK writer. Is this webinar really going to help me?
Yes, and here’s one of the reasons why. Learning how to write effectively is not like memorizing an algebraic formula or state capitals. It’s the result of practicing the act of writing again and again. Most of us become better, more effective writers through a process very much like baking and frosting a layer cake. We start with a foundation and then build on it, adding another layer of cake or filling over and over, until we are ready to frost. We’ll talk about that process, as well as about the art of arguing and persuading through writing.
Can someone from WriteLoudly! present this workshop at my workplace or to my organization?
Absolutely! Depending on where you’re located, we can present either a web-based or in-person version of Write to #Resist at your office, in your local library, or at your favorite coffee shop.
